Weekend Music Radio jamming
Here is a message I received from WMR:
"WMR has been using the freq of 6400 for some years now, since the current solar cycle made the use of 41m pointless. However the last 2 weeks have seen the station jammed by presumably 2 separate sources.
Some retard has been recording WMR from SW and rebroadcasting the tapes at various times, and was deliberately jamming WMR last sunday. This is the first time we remember that the hoax WMR has been seen as malicious. The hoax WMR has been broadcasting to our knowledge, for at least 6 years!!! Does anyone have any clue as to the whereabouts of this jamming signal?? Who is behind such a long term pointless project?? Why?? Why WMR??
To make matters worse, WMR was jammed again this Sunday by some Dutch twit, or at least someone playing non stop Dutch music. Is this the same source, or a different transmitter?
This is one reason we prefer 41m, away from the crap and ignorant operators. When the new solar cycle begins properly, and 41 is working again, we will certainly move back up in freq.
Some dxer must be getting a ground wave from this signal."
ukdxer comment:
Jack is obviously very unhappy with this situation and who can blame him. I enjoy listening to WMR who puts in a good signal here so it is annoying when other stations use 6400 and make the frequency unlistenable. I'm sure his signal carries as far as the Netherlands so could operators please check before switching on (actually, that goes for any frequency as there is no point two stations trying to broadcast on top of each other).

Pirate address list
Martin Schoech has updated his Pirate-Radio address-list PWdB:
http://www.schoechi
"The main part of the list (other names, P.O. boxes, activity, etc.) is only for subscribers, since I want to get some reward for my work and also because some of the pirates are rather suspicious about the public.
But the part of the list with the E-mail-addresses and the www-pages can be seen for free:
http://www.schoechi
Orders and critical comments are welcome! Payment for a subscription to the list please via PayPal, the price is 5 EUR /6 USD for 2 years ."

Sierra Whiskey Tango
Here's a challenge:
"Hi to all!
SWT is relatively new to the pirate radio scene, our new shortwave transmitter having only recently been built.
For more information on our history, please click on the link below.
SWT shall be running half a watt of power from North Dorset (South West England) at 10 PM(GMT) this friday, the 10/11/06. Operating frequncy will be 29.498MHZ- not ideal, but the only one we have crystals for!
Transmission will be short, of five-ten minute duration and will be in CW mode. Expected range is only 6-10 miles under optimum conditions, so we do not expect mass reports.
Yes, I admit, we are small-fry- but everyone has to start somewhere!"

Temperature is dropping towards freezing here...another frosty night in store. Caught some stations on 48m this afternoon.
Radio Bonofox was on 6305 @ 1600 playing rock and pop, IDs in English. Asked for reports to radiobonofox(@)hotmail.com Signed off at 1640. SINPO 34433.
Radio Digital was on 6311 @ 1700. Started well but faded rapidly. Playing schlager, ID and email in Dutch. SINPO 34333.
Station heard on 6310 @ 2040 playing dance music. Signal coming in well (34433) but by 2048 had faded away before ID could be heard.
Checked for Radio Free Italy on 7485 @ 2050, but nothing heard here. Strong buzzing (s7) rules out hearing any weak signals. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has better luck.
