FRS Holland repeat on internet
Last Sunday FRS-Holland was heard on 6220 kHz between 09.00- 13.00 UTC.
Conditions were rather unstable compared with the 10th December when we carried out a promotional broadcast. Nonetheless we received numerous mails.
On Xmas Eve Dec 24th FRS-Holland will repeat the complete broadcast of the previous week on the Internet. Times are the same: between 09.00- 13.00 UTC. We'd like to thank all listeners for the many e-mails.
If you would like to give it a try listening to FRS in good quality on Sunday, then check this:
For those using Win Amp use http://bereik.net:8500/listen.pls
Windows Media Player users should surf to http://bereik.net:8500
Early next Sunday morning FRS will be broadcasting a 60 min. show hoping to reach North America. We could be on 48 metres but perhaps also on 41 metres, around 7490 kHz.
Test will start at approx 05.00 UTC.
Peter Verbruggen (via SW Pirates yg)
(Email is not clear whether next Sunday for 0500 test is tomorrow or New Year's Eve)

FRS Holland
Hello SW Friends,
After nearly a year's silence FRS-Holland will return on SW next Sunday, December 17th 2006. Pxs will be aired on 6220 kHz/ 48 metres and start at 09.00 UTC/ 10.00 CET.
We will be closing down at 13.00 UTC/ 14.00 CET.
Next Sunday will feature FRS Magazine with letters, a retrospect to December 1979 (including afew radio extracts) and great music.
The German Service will be hosted by a new voice: Jan van Dijk.
He will replace Mark Jones who was our German presenter since the late 90s. We like to thank him for all the great pxs on FRS-Holland. We hope (and think) Mark will remain involved with FRS in the background!
Jan's show will feature present-day music and two interesting radio-related features. Worth while!
SW News and News from Around the World in FRS Goes DX part 1 & 2.
Tune in next Sunday. Reports and letters are (as usual) highly appreciated.

Weekend Music Radio jamming
Here is a message I received from WMR:
"WMR has been using the freq of 6400 for some years now, since the current solar cycle made the use of 41m pointless. However the last 2 weeks have seen the station jammed by presumably 2 separate sources.
Some retard has been recording WMR from SW and rebroadcasting the tapes at various times, and was deliberately jamming WMR last sunday. This is the first time we remember that the hoax WMR has been seen as malicious. The hoax WMR has been broadcasting to our knowledge, for at least 6 years!!! Does anyone have any clue as to the whereabouts of this jamming signal?? Who is behind such a long term pointless project?? Why?? Why WMR??
To make matters worse, WMR was jammed again this Sunday by some Dutch twit, or at least someone playing non stop Dutch music. Is this the same source, or a different transmitter?
This is one reason we prefer 41m, away from the crap and ignorant operators. When the new solar cycle begins properly, and 41 is working again, we will certainly move back up in freq.
Some dxer must be getting a ground wave from this signal."
ukdxer comment:
Jack is obviously very unhappy with this situation and who can blame him. I enjoy listening to WMR who puts in a good signal here so it is annoying when other stations use 6400 and make the frequency unlistenable. I'm sure his signal carries as far as the Netherlands so could operators please check before switching on (actually, that goes for any frequency as there is no point two stations trying to broadcast on top of each other).

Pirate address list
Martin Schoech has updated his Pirate-Radio address-list PWdB:
http://www.schoechi
"The main part of the list (other names, P.O. boxes, activity, etc.) is only for subscribers, since I want to get some reward for my work and also because some of the pirates are rather suspicious about the public.

Sierra Whiskey Tango
Here's a challenge:
"Hi to all!
SWT is relatively new to the pirate radio scene, our new shortwave transmitter having only recently been built.
For more information on our history, please click on the link below.
SWT shall be running half a watt of power from North Dorset (South West England) at 10 PM(GMT) this friday, the 10/11/06. Operating frequncy will be 29.498MHZ- not ideal, but the only one we have crystals for!
Transmission will be short, of five-ten minute duration and will be in CW mode. Expected range is only 6-10 miles under optimum conditions, so we do not expect mass reports.
Yes, I admit, we are small-fry- but everyone has to start somewhere!"

Fri Nov 3
Temperature is dropping towards freezing here...another frosty night in store. Caught some stations on 48m this afternoon.
Radio Bonofox was on 6305 @ 1600 playing rock and pop, IDs in English. Asked for reports to radiobonofox(@)hotmail.com Signed off at 1640. SINPO 34433.
Radio Digital was on 6311 @ 1700. Started well but faded rapidly. Playing schlager, ID and email in Dutch. SINPO 34333.
Station heard on 6310 @ 2040 playing dance music. Signal coming in well (34433) but by 2048 had faded away before ID could be heard.
Checked for Radio Free Italy on 7485 @ 2050, but nothing heard here. Strong buzzing (s7) rules out hearing any weak signals. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has better luck.

The winter season certainly feels like it is upon us. It now starts getting dark here about 6pm (1700), the leaves are falling off the trees and there is nothing much to hear on 48 metres in the evening, except of course Mystery Radio.
I'm listening now @ 1935 on 6220, signal booming in with SINPO of 44444 with the usual 80s pop and jingles.
I've also added some new links of pirate and other radio-related stuff. If anyone wants me to add their link to this website, let me know.
