Some of the Balkan pirates are interested in how their signals are getting out. I've heard Romeo before but not Tornado.

I did email Romeo a few years ago and he sent me a photo of his studio.
https://shortwavedx.blogspot.com/2018/02/email-from-serbian-pirate-romeo.htmluk dxerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16914337005866804699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28488709.post-17230869920849459302020-11-09T23:48:00.063+00:002020-11-09T23:48:00.063+00:00Conditions on the upper medium wave band were odd ...Conditions on the upper medium wave band were odd tonight: normally strong Dutch pirates were not so strong, but further afield operators came in. I was delighted to find, on 1665 kHz, Radio Tornado was transmitting in Serbo-Croat. They called CQ and Radio Digitaal responded in English, giving them a reception report. Radio Tornado then reappeared on the same frequency to acknowledge the report, in English, and identified their broadcast location as Croatia. Radio Tornado then called CQ with Radio Romeo in Serbia. Romeo was barely readable here but there was a signal logged. The three way conversation between Radio Digitaal, Radio Tornado and Radio Romeo went on for some time with Radio Concorde from the Netherlands also QSOing. This is the first time I have logged a pirate radio station from the Balkan states. However, my understanding is that it is similar legally to Greece, in that the authorities are not interested in Medium Wave piracy, as long as there are no problems caused for aeronautical navigation.
