Just a comment from WMR..
ReplyDeleteWe moved briefly to 3945 about 2100utc, or thereabouts to test the channel for splat compared to 3910. BBC strong from Singapore tonight. A little while after going on there, a strong carrier came on then followed by audio, just after we shifted back to 3910. It is the Hoax WMR with a great signal but old programme. From a few years ago....
Odd.. Who is getting signals from this, and what quality??
3910 Khz is S=8 while hoax 3945 is S=7 at 2245 Utc. At 2115 Utc the hoax carrier was very much stronger than your signal on 3945 Khz.
ReplyDeleteBy the way 6400 Khz booming in this evening O=4.

Hoax station was actually stronger on 3945 than the official WMR outlet on 3910 when I logged it at 2215.
ReplyDeleteWhy does someone feel the need to rebroadcast old recordings of WMR?
Well, I have been scratching my head at that one for the last 7 years. The question is, was it malicious. It did sign on right on top of the real WMR again, as it did on 6400 last time it was noted. Luckily we were monitoring at the time and changed back to 3910. But did they think they were on top of us all that time???
ReplyDeleteSomeone must be getting a groundwave from it...
And what an original recording they had last night from the year 2005 ish. That would have been a 20 watt signal from the woods that was recorded from.
