A “petulant” teenage radio pirate who threw a tantrum and threatened Ottawa radio personalities has been placed on 15 months probation. The now 15-year-old had set up a radio station out of his home using transmitting equipment he purchased with money from an inheritance and began broadcasting without a licence. When Industry Canada shut him down and seized his equipment after repeated warnings in January 2010, he threatened and harassed one of the agency’s investigators, a judge found.
