Whatever happened to Bogusman?
ReplyDeleteNo idea. Perhaps he has decided to call it a day. Anyone know?
ReplyDeleteHi Guys.... the last I heard / read of Bogus Man was that the transmitter had been confiscated after he used 6215 kHz, which I understand is one of the distress calling channels.... if I remember rightly, it was splatter by the religious station "World Mission Radio" on 6215 that the Dutch and Brit governments used to justify their illegal boarding of Caroline in August 1989. Clearly OFCOM are still sensitive about use of it.
ReplyDeleteSaturday night I caught Laser Hot Hits on 6205 kHz with dance (jazz-funk and remixes) music. Good signal on a Sony ICF portable with telescopic whip. And on AM, 1638 kHz was booming in with Radio Bluebird from the Netherlands, carrying on till around 2am British time.
Happy listening.
Sort of correct, but it was 6312kHz which was a DSC (digital marine) distress frequency. Bogusman can be heard on the internet (just repeats i think) but i've not heard him on SW since last Summer. There are still arguments as to whether 6215 was the cause of the Caroline raid. Certainly it was a really bad choice of channel.
ReplyDeleteI thought Bogusman might follow the Ghoul and rent airtime on Channel 292. The Ghoul seems to be on there every weekend ... he is on there tonight (Sun) from 2000-2130 UTC

I doubt Bogusman is a relay station kind of guy!
ReplyDeleteBogusman is far to tight with his money to pay anyone to air his material. He’d rather stay silent and never be heard again. I’d like to bet that if anyone offered to put out his shows for free he’d have his 1970’s tape recorder on the go in a flash.
ReplyDeleteme also heard how tight the bogus is.:-)
ReplyDeleteI think he would call it being thrifty and resourceful..
