POLICE appeals should be broadcast on pirate radio stations [in London] to help crack criminal cases, it has been claimed.
Lewisham Lib Dem Councillor Duwayne Brooks has urged police to start using the unlicensed stations. Cllr Brooks, 35, who is also Lewisham Community Police Consultative Group vice chairman, made the call.
The Met has said raising awareness of crimes is a “complex challenge”, but has ruled out using the stations because they are illegal.
