Radio Pamela was on from 18.00 to 20.00 hrs on 6940, very good reception on weston sdr and last hour S9 on North West Ireland SDR

I must look out for Pamela on that SDR. What with Weekend Music Radio back via the mystery relayer, it's brilliant to hear some veteran 80's and 90's British pirates back on the air.

Great to hear SBRS back. I checked through my old QSLs and my card from them is dated August 1977. A real golden oldie!

Just to point out again that two stations in Ireland were raided a year or so ago, probably due to operations in the 6.9 mhz area. Apparently is is used for German military traffic and the Irish authorities had to act on complaints from Germany.

Other stay-clear frequencies are,

5472 – 5588 MHz, 5682.5 – 5702.5 MHz, 5705 – 5725 MHz, 5732.5 – 5752.5
MHz, 5770 – 5790 MHz, 5795 – 5815 MHz

5770-5790 & 5795-5815 popular with many pirates! Certainly 6.9 MHz certainly is dangerous area to operate

Regarding S&BRS .... I've got a QSL Card dated 1985 from the station!

During this reporting period, ComReg investigated a complaint from the UK Regulator
(OfCom) regarding harmful interference on a frequency of 5 770 kHz from an unlicensed
broadcasting station operating from Ireland. The frequency band 5 730 – 5 900 kHz is
harmonised by NATO and NATO member nations24 for military use.

I know a lot of stations still use these frequencies.

Just a word of caution folks.

I remember listening to Skull & Bones in the late 80's on 48 metres. There were several good Irish stations on then. The one that sticks in my mind the most was Westside Radio on 6280 (later called Ozone), run by the legendary Prince Terry. Great times, and it's good to see some operators still around.

Missed Skull & Bones Radio System originally as my first pirate QSL is from 1986 and they were already off-air
