1. DX-test towards Eastern and Southern Europe on 25 mb Saturday 4th from 0500 to 1000 UTC. Our 3-element beam will be changed from normal 240 degrees to 170 degrees.
2. DX-test towards North-America on 25 mb Saturday 4th from 1000 to 1600 UTC. Antenna direction will be 300 degrees.
MW 1602 kHz:Our new 44 meters long vertical antenna will be taken in use during this transmission day. We are still making some final installation and tuning works but anyway please try how our signal is there. During last transmision we used that antenna during few hours in rest of our transmission and 1602 kHz was heart at least in Latvia.
48 mb: Our antenna here is towards 260 degrees in this moment. Please check how it works in your listening place.

The start of winter time and 48 metres a bit slow to get going this morning and very few signals better than "fair.". No time for any listening after lunch.

6210: Classic Rock Radio playing rock music. Heard @ 0830 with SINPO 33433.

6210: IRF510 heard @ 1025. SINPO 33433. Had no luck hearing station on 3935 either last night or this evening.

6220: Mystery Radio with the usual pop @ 0820. SINPO 44444. Twelve hours later, still blasting in (54444).

6239: Britain Radio Int with one of its 5th Sunday broadcasts. Today, playing the Big L Fab 40. Heard at 1020 with SINPO 33433.

6265: Premier Radio suffering QRM from station on 6266. Premier stronger of the two. Heard @ 1015 with 33433 SINPO.

6275: Laser Hot Hits with Lee Richardson programme @ 1030. Signal stronger than yesterday on 6275, maybe more power or different relay. SINPO 44444.

6285: Radio Saturnus @ 0850, mentioning Chris from Italy and playing the song "Mississipi." SINPO 34433.

6290: Radio Paardenkracht with schlager and email address. Heard @ 1005 with 43433 SINPO.

6294: Radio Skywire being squeezed between stations on 6290 & 6300. At 0915, caught distinctive email address: qso48(@)hotmail.com SINPO 23332.

6300: Unid station playing dance music @ 0900. SINPO 33433.

6300: Radio Golfbreker with schlager and polka @ 1345. SINPO 34433.

6305: Orion Radio heard playing Simon & Garfunkel song @ 0845, off at 0915. SINPO 34433.

6307: Brandaris Radio calling Northpole @ 1010. SINPO 34433.

6325: Radio Alpenroos with schlager @ 0905. SINPO 34333.

6400: Radio Ramona with oldies and jingles @ 0840. No sign of WMR at this time. SINPO 34333.

Another busy Saturday on 48 metres with many stations heard:

6210: IRF510 heard @ 1625 with rock and Halloween-type noises (spooky laughter etc). IRF (International Radio Friends) is a joint programme by On Air AM, Bermudadreieck, Crazy Wave Radio and a member of FRS Holland. Uses the SRS Germany address. SINPO 34433.

6220: Mystery Radio heard playing pop @ 1655. SINPO 44444.

6265: Voice of the Netherlands involved in QSO with WCR and Radio Titanic @ 1510. SINPO 34433.

6266: West Coast Radio with 80s oldies. Heard @ 1300 playing song from Dire Straits and Prince. Mentioned the IRF510 station. SINPO 34433.

6275: Laser Hot Hits. Regular Saturday slot now for Laser on this frequency. Heard @ 0805 with Dave Simpson programme. SINPO 34333.

6290: Radio Northpole heard @ 1250 playing oldies and ballads. SINPO 34433.

6291: Unid. Non-stop oldies @ 1600. No IDs heard. SINPO 33333.

6300: Radio Valencia heard signing off @ 1500. SINPO 34333.

6301: Radio Scirocco heard @ 0800 playing polka and giving out hotline number in Dutch, English and German. SINPO 34333.

6305: Radio Mazda. Long spells of country music and schlager with occasional IDs @ 1145. Good signal here. SINPO 44433.

6306: Unid. Song by Manfred Mann heard @ 1905 then faded out. SINPO 34333.

6310: Radio Rainbow. Non-stop oldies and occasional jingles. Ian Dury song heard @ 1630. SINPO 33333.

6401: Weekend Music Radio. Non-stop 80s music for most of the afternoon. Heard @ 1545 with SINPO 44444. By 1645, signal very strong, 9+20db! Jack Russell came on @ 1700 saying first time WMR on air for eight weeks.

Radio Boomerang was on 3927 @ 2015 playing dance music, with talk in Dutch and then off. SINPO 44433.

He was folllowed on 3927 by Radio Spaceman @ 2020, mentioning Boomerang and thanking Dave from England for SMS. SINPO 44433.

Nice surprise to hear a Dutch station on 48m this evening.

Cupid Radio & Radio Whitesnake heard @ 1900 on 6299 playing 70s music. SINPO 44433. Still going strong as I type this at 2040, signal holding up well. Also announced 15070.

Mystery Radio also on this evening, as usual using 6220. Logged @ 1925 with SINPO 33433.

Logged on Monday @ 1940 with a SINPO of 44444 and today @ 1715, again with a SINPO of 44444. Usual non-stop pop and jingles.

Again, many stations heard, although a lot of fading. Here they are (in alphabetical order):

Radio Brandaris heard briefly on 6306 @ 1100 with announcements in Dutch. SINPO 43433.

Radio Brigitte was on 6540 @ 0905 with schlager. Fair signal (33433).

Britain Radio Int was coming in well today on 6239 via Jolly Roger Radio @ 0915 with radio news and oldies. Operator Roger Davis also mentioned the station was testing webstreams via its website. You can access BRI's site via the link on this page. SINPO 44444.

Cupid Radio was on 6210 @ 0745, mentioning listeners' reports, playing music from the 70s & 80s. SINPO 44444. In the afternoon Cupid Radio heard again, this time on 6212 @ 1445. Said also on 19 metres and had a lot of response from USA. SINPO 44444.

Radio Fox 48 from Scandinavia heard @ 1720 on 6324 playing songs from the Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart. SINPO 34433.

Laser Hot Hits via JRR on 6380 @ 0950 with song by Madness and listeners' letters. SINPO 33433. Signal strengthened during the morning. After BRI's programme finished on 6239, Laser also heard on 6239 @ 1125. SINPO 44444.

Radio Malaisy (tent) on 6310 @ 1525. Non-stop music, mainly from the 80s. If they are going to play non-stop music, it would be useful to have a few jingles so we know who we're listening to. SINPO 44333.

Radio Mazda heard on 6290 @ 1315 playing schlager and polka. ID at 1325. SINPO 44433.

Mystery Radio on 6220 was heard @ 0800 with the Chris Ise programe in English and German. SINPO 34433.

Orion Radio was on 6295 @ 0740, playing rock and pop music. Good signal here. SINPO 44444.

Radio Paardenkracht was on 6324 @ 0855, playing schlager, country and pop music. Another good signal at this time (44444).

Good signal today from Premier Radio Int. Heard on 6265 @ 0805, playing 70s music and jingles, some utility QRM. SINPO 43443.

Radio Quintus was on 6295 @ 1435 playing schlager, greeting Dave from England. SINPO 44333. Heard on 6300 @ 1510 after moving to avoid Reflections Europe which had signed on at 1500 on 6295.

New station Zender Rocu heard on 6300 @ 1055 in QSO with Radio Pacman. SINPO 34433. At 1105, joined by Radio Quintus.

Radio Ramona was on his usual frequency of 6400 @ 1425 with oldies and jingles. Fair signal (34333).

Radio Scirocco playing schlager on 6275 @ 1445. Giving out phone number in English and Dutch. SINPO 33333.

Radio Skywire on 6302 @ 1555 playing Rolling Stones music and asking for QSO. Splash from Reflections Europe. SINPO 33433.

Radio Tarzan heard on 6300 @ 0850, playing schlager and giving out email address. Good signal (44444).

Radio Underground faded in @ 0940 on 6311. Heard reading Dr Tim's logs, playing radio recordings and mentioning listeners who called in last week. SINPO at this time was 44444 but did fade during the morning.

Radio Victoria was on 6285 @ 0900 playing 60s music. SINPO 33433.

WNKR heard testing on 5820 @ 1005, with Dave Martin playing 80s pop. SINPO 34433.

Unids:
6285: Dutch station playing non-stop schlager @ 1450. Fair-good signal.
6326: Also around same time, station with poor signal. Couldn't grab ID out of the noise level.

Good daytime conditions today with a plenty of stations logged.

This morning heard Radio Borderhunter on 6210 with his usual good, clear signal. Always a pleasure to listen to. Heard @ 0900 playing The Eagles. SINPO 44444.

Radio Boomerang was on 6305 @ 0910 playing oldies and schlager. ID and off @ 0913. SINPO 44444. Radio Scotland Int then came on the frequency for a QSO and they were joined by Skyline Radio.

Laser Hot Hits was on 6275 @ 0930 with pop and the usual LHH promos. SINPO 34433.

I went out for a few hours but when I returned I heard Radio Shadowman on 6310 @ 1430 in a QSO with Zodiac.

Radio Spaceman came on 6315 @ 1435, before thinking better of it and moving to 6305 where he joined the QSO. Strong signal on both frequencies (54444). Also taking part in the QSO was Boomerang.

Radio Tarzan heard playing Simply Red on 6300 @ 1438 and giving out the email address of: tools(@)planet.nl SINPO 43443.

Radio Robbie was on 6325 @ 1445 playing schlager. SINPO 34333.

Good signal from Radio Mazda on 6290 with a mixture of schlager and oldies. Heard @ 1450 with a SINPO of 44444.

Radio Bonofox was on 6280 @ 1500 playing oldies, mentioning listeners who had been in touch. Some ute QRM. SINPO 33433.

Weak signal on 6316 @ 1530. Couldn't get an ID through the noise.

Mystery Radio heard on 6220 @ 1550. SINPO 43443.

This evening Radio Oscar Zulu (ROZ) on 6268 @ 1820 with best signal I've heard from him for a long time. Good selection of tunes from 70s & 80s. SINPO 44433. He said email is the only way to contact the station. The address is roz(@)chello.nl

Station on 6305 @ 1835 playing Rolling Stones music. Started off well but faded out at 1850 before an ID was heard (44333).

Radio Spaceman heard on 3927 @ 1850 playing 60s music. Very strong signal (54444). When tuned in again at 1950 a roaring-type noise on frequency spoiling reception, although signal still strong.

Station on 3905 @ 2000 with poor-fair signal. I see in Achim's blog, it was Radio Sensation. Too noisy to get a clear ID here. SINPO 23332.

Radio Optimod was heard on 3920 @ 2040 with oldies from 70s & 80s and Optimod jingles. Good signal. SINPO 44444.

Another unidentified station on 3900 playing oldies. Went off @ 2045, came back briefly and then went off again. No IDs heard. SINPO 43443.

Radio Borderhunter has been testing different frequencies through the day. Heard on 3905 @ 2225 playing some good 80s music from The Smiths, The Cure etc and having a problem with his phone. SINPO 44444.

Radio Delmare heard on 3927 @ 1900, playing instrumental music. Weak signal just rising above the noise. Just caught ID. SINPO 24332.

Mystery Radio on 6220 @ 1855 with a good signal. SINPO 44444.

Antonio Radio (tent) on 6300 @ 2205. I'm surprised to hear anything at this time on 48m, but there is a station on 6300 playing rock n roll. ID sounded like Antonio Radio but signal weak and fading a lot. SINPO 23332.

Thurs Oct 19

Radio Whitesnake logged in northern Sweden by Gert Nillson on 6305 yesterday evening with good strength. Also heard by George Maroti in New York.

They also logged Solar Radio from the UK on 6294.2. Weak audio in New York @ 2205.

Neither station logged here last night. Only station audible was Mystery Radio with fair signals on 6220.

The winter season certainly feels like it is upon us. It now starts getting dark here about 6pm (1700), the leaves are falling off the trees and there is nothing much to hear on 48 metres in the evening, except of course Mystery Radio.

I'm listening now @ 1935 on 6220, signal booming in with SINPO of 44444 with the usual 80s pop and jingles.

I've also added some new links of pirate and other radio-related stuff. If anyone wants me to add their link to this website, let me know.

Conditions very variable today with stations going from very good signals to fading out completely! Stations heard today (in alphabetical order):

Antonio Radio was on 6292 @ 0905 playing 60s music. SINPO 43443.

Radio Boomerang and Radio Optimod doing a joint programme on 6280 @ 1125, playing oldies. As usual, a very strong signal (54444).

Radio Brigitte heard on 6540 @ 1025 signing off in Dutch, German, French and English. Certainly a multi-lingual radio station! SINPO 44433.

Cupid Radio was on 6210 @ 0815, playing music from the 80s & 90s. SINPO 44444.

Always an excellent signal from Radio Enjoy Delux from Germany. Heard @ 0800 on 6300 playing a Madonna song. SINPO 54444.

Radio Face de Blatte (tent) on 6265 @ 0900. One of the stations affected by the variable conditions with reception going from good to poor within the space of a few minutes. Didn't get a clear ID but see message on Alfa Lima forum that RFB on 6265 at this time. Mailing address via SRS Germany. SINPO 44433.

Short programme from Radio Fox 48 on 6300. Heard @ 1015 playing oldies. SINPO 34433.

One of the best signals in the morning was from Magic AM on 6275. Started fair but signal strengthened during the morning. Gave out email address of magic.am(@)wanadoo.nl and mailing address of PO Box 56719, 1049 AS Amsterdam, The Netherlands. An enjoyable selection of oldies played. SINPO went from 34433 to 44444.

Radio Mazda was on 6290 @ 1050 playing rock music, such as Status Quo. SINPO 44444.

Mystery Radio was on 6220 with a programme from Chris Ise of Crazy Wave Radio, IDing as "Mystery Radio" and giving out the Mystery Radio email address, playing 80s music. SINPO 34433.

Radio Paardenkracht heard on 6324 @ 0925 playing oldies plus Dutch music. SINPO 34433.

Radio Paardenkracht also heard @ 1240 on 6298 in QSO with Blackbird and Zodiac. SINPO 43443.

Radio Quintus testing a new antenna on 6270 @ 1130. Playing schlager. Antenna seemed to be working well as it was a good signal (44444).

Radio Rainbow heard on 6285 @ 1020 playing Supertramp song. SINPO 34433.

Radio Ramona was on 6400 @ 1035 playing oldies. SINPO 34433.

Radio Shadowman on 6300 @ 0940 for a short broadcast. Playing polka, ID in Dutch and off. SINPO 44433.

Radio Skyline (or Skywire) heard on 6300 @ 1115 playing schlager. Station trying out echo-effect on voice which didn't make IDing very easy!

Radio Underground heard for the first time for a while. But signal didn't fade in here until mid-morning. Heard on 6311 @ 1030 talking about Laser. SINPO 44433. Hopefully this is the start of more regular programmes as it is always a station worth listening to with lots of free radio news and recordings.
