Radio Six International

After a rather longer hiatus than we had anticipated, Radio Six International is delighted to resume its weekly live broadcasts to Europe and the Pacific on shortwave from Saturday, 3rd February.

The weekly Saturday broadcast will be (as before) from 0700 to 0800 UT on 9290 kHz with 100 kW from Ulbroka, Latvia.

For February the programme during that hour will be the Tony Currie Show. More details at http://www.radiosix.com

Being the first Saturday of the month I guess Radio Joystick will be on from 0900. It would be nice to get detailed info about the relays from Latvia. It seems to be down to the stations themselves to promote their own broadcasts! ukdxer

3928: Radio Quintus @ 2000 with ID, hotline number, playing rock n roll. Fair signal. SINPO 34333.

3930: Unid. Very weak signal @ 2150 - I can pick out beat of music but not strong enough to identify music or hear ID. Could it be Radio Universe from Greece? SINPO 14331.

I see on the Alfa Lima forum that a Greek pirate called Radio Universe was on 3930 this evening. Logged by Chris in Italy and by Radio Ramona. Not heard here but message from station says will be on 3930 tomorrow from 2100.

KWRN has changed its time for its Sunday broadcast via Ulbroka:

KBC on shortwave

KBC Radio via Sitkunai, Lithuanua, on 1386 kHz is heard every Saturday 2200-2300 UT with a musical program announced in English.

The manager Tom de Wit says that as from next week KBC will be on both 1386 kHz and new 6255 kHz.

Tom does not state the location for 6255 kHz but it is most likely also Sitkunai, since their transmitter is used for VOIRI (Iran) transmissions on nearby 6250 kHz (and also 6255) a little earlier in the evening.

5965: European Music Radio with one hour programme via Julich from 1300-1400. Heard @ 1330 with letters programme. Strong signal (55555). Email from the station said this programme will also be broadcast via the internet service at http://bereik.net:9290/listen.pls
1300-1400UTC and repeated at 1600-1700, 1900-2000, 2200-2300.

6206: Radio Scotland Int @ 0905 greeting Jaroslav and talking about his transmitter power (350-400W). He also mentioned he has loaded RSI videos onto You Tube which can be accessed via his website: www.radioscotland.nl Good signal (44433).
