Relay of Horizon FM, Canary Islands heard in UK

During the past few days several British DX Club members have reported hearing the Canary Islands English-language station Horizon FM on 1476 kHz or 1539 kHz.

The signal has been reported in north west England after dark with suggestions that the relay is coming from the northern part of Ireland, possibly Donegal.

Last year the station was logged regularly on shortwave for several months via a mystery relay before disappearing again.

Radio Mi Amigo to test 3985 kHz

Autumn and winter is coming as conditions on Shortwave change.

Our daily broadcasts on 6005 kHz in the 49-meter band maybe harder to receive in the dark at nighttime. We are therefore testing the alternative frequency of 3985 kHz before we make a final decision to change our daily 19:00 - 20:00 CET (1700-1800 UTC) 6005 kHz broadcasts to this new frequency.
                                                                                     
This week only (19 - 23 October) we will broadcast on both 6005 and 3985 kHz to see which one of them works best. Please be so kind to help us by sending a reception report. Tell us where you are listening and which of the 2 frequencies you prefer. At the end of the week we will pick one of the reception reports as a 'winner' who will receive a mini multiband radio as a reward.

Greetings from Italy!

Here is the schedule for this week’s test broadcasts of Marconi Radio International:

14th October 2015, from approximately   1730 to 1900 UTC
16th October  2015, from approximately 1745 to 1945 UTC 
18th October  2015, from approximately  0830 to 1230 UTC 
 
Our frequency is 11390 kHz and power in the region of 30 watts. Test broadcasts consist of non stop music and  station identification announcements in Italian, English, Spanish and Catalan.

MRI encourages reception reports from listeners. Audio clips (mp3-file) of our broadcasts  are welcome!

Until now correct reception reports have been received from Italy, Spain, Germany, Ukraine, Belgium, Finland, Netherlands, and Switzerland. We are anxious to receive feedback from more countries!

The 48 metre band faded out very early this evening. Completely dead when I tuned in on the Twente SDR at 1730 UTC. But on the other hand the top end of medium wave was full of Greek pirates (some with decent strength) on the Twente SDR.

A quick bandscan at 1735 UTC:
1640 Greek music (fair)
1653 Greek music (fair/good)
1660 Greek music (fair)
1670 Greek music (good)
 plus weak carriers on 1690, 1691, 1696, 1700, 1710, 1720 kHz - possibly more Greek or Balkan pirates.
