Dear FRS Friends,

First of all thanks to each and everyone sending us a mail/report/letter for our August 21st broadcast, some 2 weeks ago.
Soon we will be putting a little overview of that broadcast on the site. At the moment we do that, you will be informed by mail.
Of course we will do the best we can to answer all mail as soon as possible. No worries, FRS always replies to its listeners!
On Sunday September 4th, FRS will conduct a test broadcast within the 51 mb: most likely on either 5810 or 5855.
The 3 hour test will start around 18 UTC/ 20 CEST and will consist of a (partly) repeat of August 21st shows.
If you have time, give it a try and let us know about reception. Go tell your friends!

Marconi Radio Int broadcast moves to Thursdays

Please be advised that  as from September of this year, our weekly broadcasts from Wednesdays move to Thursdays.

Here is the schedule for the first Thursday transmissions of MRI on  1 September 2016:  
1600-1800 UTC  on 7700 kHz (USB mode), 
1815-1915 UTC on 15070 kHz (USB mode) 
1930-2130 UTC on 9300 kHz (USB Mode).

Our broadcasts include some kind of programmes now sadly missing from most shortwave radio stations:  an old style DX show in English “Italian Short Wave Panorama” (there is also the Italian version called “Panorama Onde Corte”) with lot of recent logs  as well as  a mailbag show (“La Posta degli ascoltatori”) in Italian. Our  station identification  announcements are not only in English and Italian but also in French, German, Romanian, Spanish and Catalan.

For the first time in our history a Facebook page about our station has been introduced. It is called "MRI World" and can be found at this web address: https://www.facebook.com/mriworld - Although it is still  far from being completed  you can leave your comments and suggestions.

MRI encourages reception reports from listeners. Audio clips (mp3-file) of our broadcasts are welcome! We QSL 100%. Our electronic mail address is: marconiradiointernational@ gmail.com - Please don’t forget to include your postal address as some lucky listeners will also receive a printed QSL card.

Last but not least,  we need your help! If you use social networks, please post an announcement on Facebook  or send out a tweet the day  before the broadcast. You can also forward this message to a friend. This should help increase our  potential audience.

FRS Holland tomorrow evening

Dear FRS Friend,

On Sunday August 21st (evening) FRS-Holland will hit the SW airwaves.
Programmes that evening will start at 16:52 UTC/ 18:52 CEST with no less than 5 hours of music and information.

FRS will offer varied programmes and no doubt it will be worth while tuning our way.

Marconi Radio Int special broadcast

On August 15, let's celebrate one year since MRI returned back on the air  on the occasion of Ferragosto national holiday! Tune in to MRI  Thank you for your participation!

Every year many Italians observe Assumption Day, also known as Ferragosto, on August 15. This year the national holiday of Ferragosto  (which celebrates the Catholic belief that God assumed the Virgin Mary into Heaven at her death) coincides with the first anniversary since MRI,  after 15 years of dormancy, returned back to the airwaves  on 15 August 2015.

Although most of Italians go to the beach (or mountains) for Ferragosto, MRI will be on the air with a special broadcast as follows: from  0800 to 1000 UTC  on 7700 kHz USB and from 1030 to 1530 UTC on 15025 kHz.

To mark this anniversary, we’ll air  “Ferragosto Show”, with music, interviews and listeners' feedbacks.

But that is not all. In addition to our weekly DX shows  "Italian Shortwave Panorama" (in English) and  "Panorama Onde Corte" (in Italian),  we'll be airing a repeat of our special programme  in Italian produced, in cooperation with Radio Europe  and IBC – Italian Broadcasting Corporation, to celebrate the  role of free shortwave radio on the occasion of 2016 World Radio Day.

We take this opportunity to invite shortwave listeners and DXers, in conjunction with this Special Ferragosto broadcasts  on August 15, 2016, to send your greetings in a form of audio clip (mp3-file) or  text  to marconiradiointernational@gmail.com. We'll  air  and include  your greetings in our next MRI Newsletter.
