FRS Holland on air tomorrow

Following our 38th Anniversary broadcasts on August 26th & September 2nd, FRS will take to the air with a full regular broadcast on Sunday November 18th. 

Programmes will commence at 08:52 UTC/ 09:52 CET and will last four hours. Close down will be at 13:00 UTC/ 14:00 CET after which the complete programmes will see a full repeat until just after 17:00 UTC/ 18:00 CET. 

Attention: in the morning/ early afternoon programmes will be aired at 7700//9300 kHz. During the second run starting just after 13:00 UTC/ 14:00 CET, the 31 mb frequency could be changed into 9213 kHz (will be announced later, also listen to FRS Magazine/ FRS goes DX for updated info).

Tune in ...the best in music, many interesting (radio) related items and DX news. It will be worth while to tune in!

Hungarian pirate Chaos Radio raided

Message from Chaos Radio: 

"Thanks everyone, who wrote me reports here! It was a fun one month, but it is over.
"Unfortunatelly, today, while I was testing some, the Hungarian telecommunication authorities showed up, so looks like no more transmissions from Hungary.
"We had problems for like a year now with more and more frequent pirate radio raids on 3 meter band, so I tried to move to shortwave, and hoped the best.
"Sadly, they told me, they are monitoring these frequencies too, and no mercy to unlicensed activities even on sw, so they killed my sw station too, pretty quickly."

Global HF weekend starts tomorrow

The Global HF Weekend is coming up November 2-4, 2018.

The GHFW occurs the 1st weekend in April and the first weekend in November every year. The idea is that it's a set time for listeners and stations to try testing to different parts of the world.

Over the past few years, the high frequencies have not been great for propagation between Europe and North America, but stations have still been able to reach other continents by operating at other times, etc.

Tuning into the Dutch medium wave pirates

As the nights draw in, now is the time to tune to the top end of medium wave to try and hear some
of those Dutch pirates. Many use a fair amount of power and can be heard easily across the UK.

A good source of information is the MW Free Radio blog - which gives an English perspective of the Dutch free radio scene.

This week he has updated his blog after a break of more than three months. Here you can find loggings, recordings and other observations.
