New FRS Holland broadcasts

On Sunday August 29th, the Free Radio Service Holland will take to the airwaves with a 4 hour evening broadcast. 

On this occasion, programmes will commence at 17:52 UTC (19:52 CEST) and close down will be at 22:05 UTC (00:05 CEST).  The current propagation pattern made us decide to start not earlier than 18:00 UTC. Programmes will be aired on 7700//4900 kHz as well as on 6185 kHz. Please note that the 4900 kHz frequency can be altered a bit up or downwards.  This broadcast is the unofficial celebration of our 41st Anniversary.

Meanwhile on Saturday August 14th at 02:00 UTC, FRS-Holland will have a one hour relay by courtesy of Texas Radio Shortwave. The show will be aired on 5800 kHz via a 100 kW transmitter from Radio Miami Int. (WRMI).. Texas Radio Shortwave selected a number of low power Euro SW stations that broadcast interesting programs. 

Aim is to provide interesting content for North American listeners who may not know these stations exist and for DXers who can’t hear these stations under current solar conditions. Although WRMI's 5800 signal is primarily aimed at North America, reception in Europe is possible. So, if you are a night owl you know what to do!

News from Texas Radio Shortwave, who has already organised relays for Radio Merlin Int, Radio Monique, Charleston Radio Int & Cool AM via WRMI 

Ahoy Mateys -

We wanted to give you a heads-up that we'll soon announce Series 2 of our Europirate relays over WRMI.  We have a mix of new and returning stations with September and, we think, October relay dates filled.  We're waiting on a few stations to respond so we can begin filling dates in November.

Also, watch the Facebook groups for the announcement of a special commemorative eQSL for listeners who verified the five Europirates featured in July relays.

Other than those, nothing new from TRSW.  Our Prime programs continue as scheduled and we have four more European pirate and low-powered licensed station relays throughout August.

We need another holiday this Summer!

European free radio stations to be heard in the USA

 Radio Igloo will be on air again, this time from WRMI's 100 kW-transmitter in Florida, on Saturday July 3rd at 02.00-03.00 UTC on 5800 kHz.

Thanks to the Texas Radio Shortwave team, we have the opportunity to reach the whole world with our program this time. It will be a co-production with the Westcoast DX-Club in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Radio Igloo show is the first of a series of one-hour programs by European free-radio and low-power licensed stations hosted by Texas Radio Shortwave during July and August.

The programs will be broadcast every Friday night at 10pm ET (Saturday at 0200 UTC elsewhere) by WRMI, Okeechobee, Florida, on 5800 kHz, eQSLs will be available from individual stations. TRSW will not issue eQSLs for these programs.

These popular stations are heard regularly in Europe but seldom in North America because of propagation conditions.
