The Pirate Archive

The Pirate Archive is a UK-based website is dedicated to remembering the land-based stations from the past. It started life mainly focussing on stations in the Midlands but has been steadily growing and now covers most of the country.

It has station histories, artwork, recordings and video, mainly concentrating on the FM and medium wave stations.

The Pirate Archive recently had a makeover and now has a new clean look. It is always on the lookout for new recordings so if you fancy a trip down memory lane, visit: www.thepiratearchive.net

I'll also mention my blog dedicated to recordings from the 1980s called Pirate Memories. This is mainly shortwave land-based recordings from UK, Ireland and the rest of Europe. There also some clips from London land-based stations from FM and medium wave. These were taken from my piles of old cassette recordings that had been gathering dust in the attic for the past 20 years or so!

There is an index if there is any particular station you want to find, plus stations are tagged by band and country for easy searching. Go to www.piratememories.blogspot.com.
