At 3.30pm (UK Time) I was on the "Jurassic Coast" SDR and heard Radio Fox 48 on 6290.5 kHz sticking in a very listenable signal, with Guns and Roses playing. They did not remain on for long, as I tuned to Harmony to hear "Magic Moments" by Perry Como and then back on Fox and they were cutting carrier.
Fox broadcasts from Norway so a good catch on the Jurassic Coast
Incidentally, around five or six Dutch pirates on the extended AM band around tea time, playing a variety of trad music types. Radio Barones was on 1635 kHz for around two hours with English Idents. At one point, he broadcast some Dutch language comedy skits, and then an old recording from the Radio Netherlands World wide service - probably from the much missed Media Network programme (old copies of which are being broadcast on an evening from the legal German hobbyist station on 3975 kHz.....) Anyway, the feature was about the AM pirate scene in Holland, and the stations crowded around the German-Dutch border country which broadcast what they called "agricultural music"! I think the show dated from around 1993-4 as it referred to the "new" pirate band around 75 metres which seemed to get popular around that time. An amusing anecdote was that one 10,000 Watt "superpirate" in East Holland was raided not because of any interference issues, but because there was so much RF that lights in neighbouring farmsteads were coming on an off with the music! :)
Greece is busy tonight too - ten pirates on the band between 1611 and 1800 kHz, some on the Twente Receiver, and others on the Athens SDR. Traditional Greek music predominates but 1740 kHz is playing more modern Greek pop sounds.
Thanks for that report .... station called Radio Romeo from Serbia being heard on 1675. He is one of strongest Balkan pirates, playing traditional music.
Barones seemed to be having a great time!
