Nice to see recordings of Laser 558 being aired - appropriate, as it was on 24th May 1984 that Laser commenced full programming from the mv Communicator. Also, this month it has been forty years since the Gardai raids on some of the largest pirate stations in the Republic of Ireland (Sunshine, Nova and others). On that occasion, the pirates called their bluff, returned to the air, organised the Free Radio Marches in Dublin and the great Irish free radio experiment carried on for another five years, till the passing of new laws at New Year 1988/9.
