Bit of Russian shortwave pirate action for a Friday night. On the Russian "hooligan" (pirate) band at 3MHz, station playing 1980s Europop tunes in English on 3049.50 kHz with a decent signal into the Tambov SDR and a nice audio / dynamic range. Meanwhile, on 3092 kHz, another "hooligan" operator was transmitting Slavic folk type music. Unfortunately, whilst this was different to a lot of what is put out by AM pirates, the audio was distorted and sounded rather like a microphone had been placed against a speaker! Both these hooligan operations were heard between 02:00 and 02:13 Moscow Time. After 02:15, a further music station joined them, playing what sounded like folk music from Southern Russia / Caucuses mountains area. This was on 3011.50 kHz with a weak signal into Tambov.
More French Freebander action on 6660 kHz LSB - tonight long transmissions of rnb music around 00:00-00:30 CET.
I can't get Tambov SDR to tune to some of those frequencies....parts of band are blacked out to me. Any work around known?
