Listening this afternoon, there was more pirate activity on 51 metres than the 'traditional' 48 metre pirate band. No less than five pirates heard between 5800 & 5880.
I have also noticed 48 metres suffers from a lot of utility, especially in the late afternoon/early evening which is why it might be losing its attraction.
Radio Pamela was on 7640 khz from 10.00 to 14.00 hours GMT
Yes even creeping up into the 6.9 area 6940 gets hammered by SSB or utility now
Doesn't saying you were on the air defeat the object of you coming on the air in the first place ?
Your right, The Above Quote
why would it?
as for the bands, there used to be plenty above 6200 kHz-6300 kHz, but a lot have moved down; the top of 4mHz and 5mHz are seeing an increase, 6300 and upwards is staying more or less steady and the American pirate band around 6900 and above is seeing a few from this side of the pond moving up. The MUF is seeing higher frequencies being used, 7, 11, 15 mHz areas all seeing stations, but a lot of DX sites seem to concentrate on the lower bands
