American pirate operator Darklife (who is also a regular on the Alfa Lima forum) has set up a new pirate forum.

He says: "Check out our new pirate radio forums. We need members because the forums were just opened. They contain all kinds of subforums for pirate radio along with a general chit chat forum. So join in on the fun..."

While on the subject of forums, while checking out the Alfa Lima forum this morning I was shocked at the amount of spam in the message boards, mainly the first one - Pirates Shortwave.

I know the moderators are busy people with lives to lead but could someone go in every day and just clear this rubbish off. Also don't click on these postings - it will just encourage the spammers to post more if they think people are looking at it.

Even better would be to find a solution to stopping it altogether.

NY Eve broadcast

Hello all,

RECH (Radio East Coast Holland) will do it again on shortwave and medium wave together with the VOTN (Voice of the Netherlands) on New Year's Eve.

On medium wave we can use the TX of Radio Vrijdrenthe on 1476Khz with about 300watts.

On shortwave we will use the 100 watts of votn. We start around 0900utc and we close about 1600utc.

But is is live so maybe we will do it a little bit longer. We have two hot live telephone numbers ECH 0031-625 426 740, votn 0031-623 968 182 and also two e-mail addresses votn @ planet.nl and eastcoastholland @ hotmail.com.

Hopefully you will listening on 31-12-2007 again.

Music included a Sea Chantey and a punk rock sounding song, and audio clips including something by Jack Webb from Dragnet. I lost the signalat 0308 w/o sign off ancmts. Fair to Good.

3932: Radio Atlantis (tent) heard @ 1910 playing dance music. Good signal but whistle from nearby station. SINPO 43433.

3940: Radio Underground on @ 1550 chatting about free radio and reading listeners' messages. Fair-good signal, currently S7-8. SINPO 34333.

6255: KBC via Lithuania playing German music. Signal fading more tonight between S9 and S9+20dB. SINPO 54444.

6275: Laser Hot Hits heard @ 0805 with the Jolly Roger programme, playing 60s music. SINPO 34433.

6285: Radio Boomerang heard @ 1410 playing song "Roses Without Thorns," talk in Dutch. SINPO 44444.

6295: Scotland Radio Int with a report to Boomerang @ 1450. Good signal. SINPO 44444.

6296: MRF Radio joining in the QSO @ 1455. Signal a lot weaker. SINPO 24332. Also taking part @ 1500 on 6296 was Radio Titanic. SINPO 34333.

6309: Radio Valencia playing some instrumental music @ 1415 then a Beatles medley. SINPO 34433.

6310: Orion Radio playing schlager @ 0910. Good signal, but unfortunately on top of Radio Condor. SINPO 43433.

6310: Radio Condor also heard @ 0910 playing Pet Shop Boys underneath Orion Radio. SINPO 32432. In the clear @ 0931 when Orion signed off, but also closed down a few minutes later. SINPO 34333.

6400: Weekend Music Radio back on the air playing the Specials "Too Much Too Young" @ 1705. Good signal. SINPO 44444.

6307: Unid station with schlager and phone calls @ 1845. Foton's log has this as Radio Paradise and Radio Kentucky. Good signal but gone a few minutes later (signed off or faded out?). SINPO 44433.

3930: Unid station @ 1920 playing rock music, then A-ha "Take on Me." Good signal but telephony QRM in usb. Break of several minutes before coming back with a track by Dire Straits. SINPO 43443.

Sligo European Radio final broadcast

It is with deep regret that Sligo European Radio announces that it is to make its final (relay) broadcast this coming Sunday, October 7th 2007 via the transmitters of Jolly Roger Radio on 6235khz short-wave.


The final broadcast will coincide with the 20th anniversary of our first broadcast on October 4th 1987.


The precise time of our final broadcast is unknown, just listen in to Jolly Roger Radio on Sunday and you should hear us at some time.


And please remember to send your reception reports to: sligoeuropeanradio@hotmail.com along with your snail mail address and we just might make it worthwhile.
