Hello FRS-Holland Friends, Already some time ago we informed you about the upcoming FRS 30 Years celebrations.
In the meantime we have received a number of contributions, we feel the on air celebration would be incomplete without our listeners' input!
Of course contributions from colleague SW stations are also very much appreciated.

Still we haven't heard from many listeners whose contribution would be much appreciated. We are talking about many faithful listeners who already tuned long time ago.

For us at FRSH your contribution is 'invaluable' !!
So we once again appeal on you....

Preparations are in an advanced stage and we once again invite you as FRSH listener to participate. Instead of writing a letter following a broadcast, we kindly ask for your personal FRS memories.

Either you put them
1) on a sheet of paper or send them by mail and
2) most wanted: record your personal message and send an mp3 audio file.

All listeners' contributions will be collected and together it will be our anthology of 30 years of SW broadcasts. When did you hear us for the first time, what was your favorite show, when did you get your first QSL, how much did you listen to FRS, any special on air moments you remember? All this info could be part of your personal FRS contribution.

Pirate stations raided in West Midlands

Pirate radio equipment broadcasting from the top of three landmark tower blocks in Wolverhampton has been seized in a police swoop.
Police and Office of Communications officials took down £1,500 worth of equipment including three transmitters, a computer, five aerials, cabling and a satellite receiver.

Ofcom helps Spanish government catch pirates .... maybe?

This is curious. Firstly, it is many years since the DTI had anything to do with catching radio pirates ... not since the days of Laser 558 in the 80s. The DTI does not exist anymore! Also the website lists a number to ring for Ofcom, but a check on Ofcom's website does not have this number listed! I've not tried ringing it so I don't know if it genuine or not! Why would the Spanish authorities feel the need to call in Ofcom to track down radio pirates in their country? I wonder if this is genuine or is a hoax or joke?? Finally I looked on Digital Spy and couldn't see this story... the plot thickens.

Radio Nova name tunes into nostalgia for original station

Despite a struggling marketplace, a new broadcasting venture is set to take to the air. Radio Nova was a pirate radio phenomenon in Dublin in the early 1980s; from September, a new entity with the same name will return to the airwaves.

This time the station is licensed and, while it's a smart move by the promoters to cash in on the goodwill associated with the name, some Radio Nova originals are not impressed.
