6220: FRS Holland via Mystery Radio. Sign on @ 0910 with Peter Verbruggen. Gave mailing address of PO Box 2702, 6049ZG Herten and said the station would be on again from 0900-1300UTC next Sunday on the same channel. Today's was one hour programme but good to hear FRS back on the air. SINPO 44444.

6239: Britain Radio Int with their regular 2nd Sunday programe but suffering utility QRM @ 1005 so not too easy to hear. SINPO 33433.

6265: Premier Radio Int @ 0905 with 70s music, later a whistle on signal suggesting another station underneath. SINPO 43433.

6300: Flux AM heard @ 1505 playing schlager with 'Flux AM' jingles. Some splash from WCR. SINPO 43433.

6305: West Coast Radio @ 1500 playing song by the Eurythmics and greeting listeners in Norway and Sweden. Good signal here. SINPO 44444.

6220: Mystery Radio @ 2000 coming in well with pop music. SINPO 44444.

9290 (lsb): Radio Spaceshuttle Int: Very weak signal @ 1045 - only s1 on my s-meter. Clear ID heard @ 1109 followed by "House of the Rising Sun." SINPO 14431.

Britain Radio International

Roger Davis writes: "BRI should be on air December 10th/24th Dec from 10am, using 6240khz, features in the programme includes a tribute to the late Alan Freeman who died recently, also the DJ profile is Mike Lennox, rare 60s archive, and a sprinkling of Xmas songs.

Also look out for us on Xmas day morning, possibly Boxing Day and New Years Day, of course all broadcasts are subject to change or cancellation depending on the situation/availability at the TX site.

Quintus & KBC

In consultation between Radio KBC and Radio Quintus a promo rebroadcast will be on Sunday 3 Dec on 48m at 10:00 Netherlands time (0900 UTC).

The programme will last approximately 1 hour with jingles and music from 1960s and 70s.

3927: Radio Borderhunter heard @ 2245 playing Katrina & The Waves, Dire Straits. But signal not the usual strength and frequency quite noisy. SINPO 33333.

6220: Mystery Radio @ 1610 with pop but not usual booming signal. SINPO 33433.

6275: Laser Hot Hits with pop, but weak signal competing against strong SSB QRM @ 1200. SINPO 22432.

6301: Radio Lowland heard @ 1555 playing polka. SINPO 33433.

6401: Unid (Weekend Music Radio?). Non-stop 60s oldies but no IDs heard @ 1600. Signal also fading out. SINPO 34333.

Received a message from Radio Spaceshuttle Int that he was broadcasting on 9290 (lsb) early evening tonight. Listening now (1830) but unfortunately can't hear anything. Maybe others will have more luck!

Radio Cupid & Radio Whitesnake heard on 6300 @ 2005 playing rock music, including Manic Street Preachers and Aerosmith, ID at 2010. Fair signal but lot of fading (34433).

Mystery Radio continues to be heard well with its non-stop diet of pop. Logged @ 1530 yesterday with a SINPO of 43433 and today @ 2030 with SINPO of 43433 - some fading and a bit of utility QRM.

KBC to return

Former Pirate station KBC Radio from the Netherlands is back on the air starting December 23 on 1386 kHz with 500,000 W from Kaunas, Lithuania, every Saturday evening from 23.00 to 24.00 CET [2200-2300 UTC until DST: 2100-2200 UT]. On December 23 and 30 they will start with two test transmissions.

In the 70s and 80s KBC was a very active pirate on shortwave and mediumwave. They are working on a special KBC International website, coming soon.

Orange Wave Radio

Look out for a new station tonight (Thu 23 Nov) from 2100UTC on 4780 +/- and 6360 +/- when Orange Wave Radio takes to the airwaves under the name Radio Helena.

Weekend Music Radio jamming

Here is a message I received from WMR:

"WMR has been using the freq of 6400 for some years now, since the current solar cycle made the use of 41m pointless. However the last 2 weeks have seen the station jammed by presumably 2 separate sources.

Some retard has been recording WMR from SW and rebroadcasting the tapes at various times, and was deliberately jamming WMR last sunday. This is the first time we remember that the hoax WMR has been seen as malicious.The hoax WMR has been broadcasting to our knowledge, for at least 6 years!!! Does anyone have any clue as to the whereabouts of this jamming signal?? Who is behind such a long term pointless project?? Why?? Why WMR??

To make matters worse, WMR was jammed again this Sunday by some Dutch twit, or at least someone playing non stop Dutch music. Is this the same source, or a different transmitter?

This is one reason we prefer 41m, away from the crap and ignorant operators. When the new solar cycle begins properly, and 41 is working again, we will certainly move back up in freq.

Some dxer must be getting a ground wave from this signal."

Jack is obviously very unhappy with this situation and who can blame him. I enjoy listening to WMR who puts in a good signal here so it is annoying when other stations use 6400 and make the frequency unlistenable. I'm sure his signal carries as far as the Netherlands so could operators please check before switching on (actually, that goes for any frequency as there is no point two stations trying to broadcast on top of each other).
