Dear friends, on the occasion of the most spectacular lunar eclipse of these years, we decided to go on air with a whole new transmission.

There will be the debut of Mistik (Massi) who after more than twenty years of absence from the microphones has prepared two hours of live with Soul 70 music.

So many reasons to listen, we will be on the roof to admire the red moon, I like to think that our signal through mountains, cities and oceans carrying with us our little message of Brotherhood that through music we try to give and if we are lucky, we will wrap the earth with this positive energy.

Empire Radio to return for its 40th birthday

Chris Cooper on Facebook: "To celebrate the 40th birthday of Empire Radio, the original team has re-united for a special one-off broadcast.

"With programmes presented in our own style, mixing music and comedy, Keith Rogers, Chris Cooper and Albert Hall will be on the air this Sunday, 22 July, from 1000 hours BST, with a repeat from 1800 hours.

"The exact frequency will be determined on the day, but is expected to be around 6265KHz, although it could be anywhere between 6200 and 6325.

"I hope listeners, old and new, will be able to tune in. Sorry it clashes with a broadcast weekend from the Ross Revenge, but we couldn't change our birthday! If all goes well, maybe the programmes will be repeated, later in the year. In that connection, if an internet radio station, out there, is interested in carrying the shows, please get in touch."

Return of Radio Spaceshuttle

Hi, we have had a quiet time during 2017, even though there were a few successful transmissions on the 31 and 48 metre bands.

We have fixed our transmitters during 2017 and plan to return for our 16th birthday.

So expect to hear us again during autumn 2018 on 76 metres (3905-3927) and 48 metres (6205, 6210, 6220, 6260, 6265, 6280 or 6300-6310 kHz) as well 9290 (or 9270), 12265 and higher - 19 mb (15805-15880 area).

Channel 292 shutdown report fake

An email claiming to be from German low-power shortwave station Channel 292 which said the station will have to shutdown for three months from tomorrow (July 13) is a fake.

In the message the email said: "I have to shut down the transmitter for three months beginning 13th July at 0700 UTC. I have no other choice to do this because part of the transmitter needs replaced and I cannot get this part fast it needs to be made from the company."

It was 'signed' by the station owner Rainer Ebling.

But on the WRTH Facebook page  Rainer said: "This is fake. Forget all messages, that don't come from our normal address. Maybe you can spread the truth. You see, the fake mail still uses our old address."
