A bit of early morning activity noted today, Thursday
Zender Toulouse on 1638 kHz at 5.50 to 6.15 UTC – traditional polka and Dutch announcements
Radio Noordzee on 1638 kHz at 6.20 to 6.45 UTC - report for Toulouse and accordian music
On the Athens SDR: Greek Pirate Radio Gemini on 1620 kHz at 6.50 to 7.20 UTC – soul, dance music and chat. Also a series of QSOing pirates using 1690 kHz during this time.
Radio Utopia on 1620 kHz at 9.20am UTC – accordian music and Dutch announcements, referencing QSOs with other stations.
Radio Lomax (spelling) on 1636 kHz at 9.50am UTC. Theme from Radio Northsea International “Man of Action”, followed by greetings and a piece of South American “pan pipes” music.
Radio 319 on 5880 kHz at 9.25am UTC – “Last Christmas” by Wham!. Excellent modulation, strong signal on Twente SDR. Tapes of offshore Radio Veronica; English jingle referencing the old Caroline ID “From a point on land to the circles in your mind: this is Radio 319”.
At 6am (UTC), LPAM station United AM (1008 kHz) signed on with “Theme from Terrahawks”, a very similar edit to that used by Radio Monique in the eighties. A nice anorak touch.
