On the Twente SDR Receiver, strong signals were coming through this evening on 4625 kHz USB playing music over the Russian military "buzzer" installation. Tracks heard included 90s pop-dance tracks, slacker/stoner style rock that you might hear on the Cosmic Fuzz internet station, and some rap music. The jammers are said to be unlicensed Ukraine based transmitters. In many countries, the state takes an extremely dim view of deliberate interference with legal stations, police or military (remember the resources poured into trying to silence the pro-NUM station Radio Arthur during the 1984 UK miners dispute) - in this case, the Ukranian pirates on 4625 are active most evenings.... one assumes that the Ukranian government tacitly supports their interference to the Russian military.
US pirates heard tonight on the Pennsylvania SDR:
WDOG on 6930 kHz USB at 2215 UTC- a mixture of rock and roll tracks including Elvis and La Bamba.
RSW on 6950 kHz USB - indie rock music with a strong signal. DJ Dickweed signed off at 2220 UTC.
